What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy is not a workout. It’s a healing modality rooted in ancient wisdom and backed by modern science. Using mindful movement, breath work, guided relaxation, and somatic awareness, yoga therapy supports your nervous system, strengthens your body, and gently reconnects you with your own inner resources.

Body Work is for anyone with a body! 

Yoga is not just for the flexible, the fit, or the spiritually inclined. It’s for anyone who wants to feel more grounded, confident, and at home in their body and mind. Unlike one-size-fits-all yoga classes, yoga therapy is customized to you. No more worrying about falling behind in the class or never having practiced yoga. Every session is thoughtfully designed to accommodate your unique needs. 

Somatics provides therapeutic benefits when it invites us into a direct relationship with the sensations and stories held in our body, something many of us have learned to ignore, override, or mistrust. To work with the "soma" or body, is a form of bottom-up therapy, unlike the traditional top-down methods such as Talk Therapies that function primarily through the rational mind. This approach may feel unfamiliar, but that’s precisely why it matters.  Many of us are unfamiliar with our own selves outside the stories of our minds! Somatics at its core is repairing the relationship with ourselves and reclaiming the wisdom, safety, and deep connection that’s been inside you all along.

Ongoing stress and dehumanization can wreak havoc on our sensitive bodies, which are often just doing their best to keep up with us.

Yoga Therapy and Somatics work in tandem to shift us gently out of survival mode into a

state of healing and resilience. 

Once in a healing state, your body takes the lead rewiring and reparenting denied or shamed aspects of ourselves. It begins to repair tissues, balance hormones, strengthen  immune responses, and promote mental wellbeing.
